GEORGE NEWS - She's not just a lady from George, she is Mrs Garden Route 2023. Corrie Ross was crowned as Mrs Garden Route during a pageant held on 10 December at the NG church hall in George South.
Ross, who is no stranger to beauty pageants, also won Mrs Photogenic, Mrs Personality, Creative wear and Mrs Style. She has also judged a couple of pageants in her life.
"Mrs Garden Route is a working title, and for the next year I will have to do various charity events of which one is the Power Tower. We have to gather tinned foods and build a tower with it. Everything gets donated to charity," said Ross.
The pageant was hosted by Mzanzi Pageants and all the items like clothing, toys and household goods that were gathered for the pageant were distributed in the Garden Route.
"Each contestant pays an entry fee and have to give a cash donation, 10 nonperishable food items and 10 gift bags. All the sponsored goods are gathered as part of the pageant and handed out. I chose the PDSA charity shop and Green Fingers Projects in Blanco, to give mine to," said Ross.
