GEORGE NEWS - George Airport was closed on Friday for a short while but was opened again later.
This was confirmed this morning by Senzeni Ndebele, spokesperson of ACSA (Airports company of South Africa).
According to Ndebele,the airport had to be closed so that a small aircraft could be cleared after one of its tyres burst.
It was nothing serious and shortly afterwards the airport was opened again.
Flights that were delayed could take off again.
The airport is open today.
