GEORGE NEWS - Two of the seven fatalities on roads in the Western Cape since the start of the Easter weekend, were in the George municipal area.
A traffic report from Provincial Traffic Head Kenny Africa, details a fatal crash on the N2 behind the Garden Route Mall at 19:30 last night (Saturday 20 April). A male occupant died when a Ford sedan collided with a Kia.
According to Africa, the driver of the Ford lost control of the car and collided with the Kia. The driver of the Ford was arrested for drunken driving.
One lane was closed for traffic in the direction of Cape Town. Motorists had to use an alternative route via Knysna Road through York Street to get back on the N2 at Pacaltsdorp bridge.
On Friday 19 April, a male pedestrian was killed when he was knocked over on the R404 in Geelhoutboom.
