GEORGE NEWS - Western Cape Health MEC Dr Nomafrench Mbombo thanked the staff of the Conville clinic for manning a 24-hour emergency medical support centre for minor injuries and medical issues related to the fires.
Mbombo used her visit on Tuesday 30 October to interact with the clinic's regular patients and thanked them for their understanding.
Dr Hannelie Louw, medical manager of the Harry Comay Hospital, Uniondale Hospital and George Primary Health Care, said, "The clinic attended to 18 people who had respiratory difficulties due to smoke inhalation. No burns from the fire were reported."
