GEORGE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - The Autumn series of lunch hour concerts on Wednesdays at the Dutch Reformed Mother Church in George have resumed.
We are proud to showcase the local talent of our region and will have the privilege to hear local composers Dalene Brits, Chris Lamprecht and Benjamin Bushakewitz performing some of their own works.
This series is partly sponsored by the George Surgical Centre and we only ask a donation at the doors. Concerts take place from 13:00 -14:00.
The programme is as follows:
- 13 March: 4 flutes with guitar and organ (Kaléne Roux, Louise Visser, Ruan van der Vyver, Francois le Roux, Benjamin Bushakewitz and Gerrit Jordaan)
- 20 March: Chris Lamprecht concert (Chris Lamprecht, Maggie Bodenstein, Gerrit Jordaan and Olga Bosman - harp)
- 27 March: Flute, violin and piano (Ruan van der Vyver, Calvin Steyn and Dalene Brits)
- 3 April: JS Bach organ music (Gerrit Jordaan)
- 10 April: Clarinet, viola and piano (Elize Munro, Ingrid Robinson and Dalene Brits)
- 17 April: Passie van ons Heer (a large-scale religious choir work by Dalene Brits, performed under direction of the composer.)
- 24 April: Rhapsody in Blue - piano and organ (Dalene Brits and Gerrit Jordaan)
- 6 May: Gala concert at 19:00.
