GEORGE NEWS - A total of 22 suspects were arrested on drug-related charges in the Conville area between Saturday 6 April and Monday 8 April.
Two of these suspects were arrested on Sunday and Monday during patrols in the area.
On Sunday, Conville police members raided a house in July Marakeni Street in Lawaaikamp, when they noticed that a portion of grass next to the house had been disturbed.
"They opened a hole in the ground and inside the hole discovered a Knorrox box [beef cubes box] with 500 Mandrax tablets concealed inside," said Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies.
A 38-year-old Nigerian man was arrested on the scene.
On Monday, members of the Garden Route District Crime Combatting Team conducted patrols along Fiskaal Street, Conville, when they noticed a suspicious man changing direction when police approached.
They gave chase and when they caught up with him, proceeded with a search in which they found 88 bankies of tik and nine Mandrax tablets.
The suspect (28) was arrested on a charge of possession of drugs.
