GEORGE NEWS - A man from Thembalethu is scheduled to appear in the George Magistrate's Court today, Friday 8 November, on a charge of rape involving a 12-year-old girl.
According to unconfirmed reports, the girl initially reported the alleged incident to staff at her school.
While on patrol in Thembalethu, police encountered a visibly distressed group of people. Upon investigation, they found the girl’s mother being confronted by community members about the incident.
Police then went to the school to collect the child, who had already informed staff about the situation.
The man, who is known to the victim, was arrested on Wednesday, 6 November.
