Update
GEORGE NEWS - The 22-year-old accused who was arrested in May for the rape and murder of Geonique Pieterse (16), briefly appeared in the George Magistrate's Court on Wednesday 14 August.
He previously abandoned his bail application and the case was postponed for further investigation.
On Wednesday the case was postponed again due to outstanding DNA results. He will be back in court on Tuesday 17 September.
Pieterse was known to the accused. Due to the sexual charge against the suspect, his name will be withheld until he pleads. Pieterse's body was found on Sunday morning, 28 April, by her young brother and cousin on her bed in her parents' home in Park Street.
