GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - A vaccinator at the Knysna Road Clicks branch has been overheard allegedly telling a member of the public coming for their Covid-19 vaccination that "it is not good for the body" and that they should drink a lot of water to get rid of it.
The nurse also allegedly told another person whom she vaccinated that vaccines are a "gimmick".
This is according to a Georgian who wanted only his first name, Jan, to be mentioned. "This is highly irresponsible. I was extremely ill after contracting Covid-19 and such misinformation should not be spread at vaccination centres. It could cost people their lives," he said.
Vikash Singh, Clicks managing executive, confirmed that they are aware of the complaint.
"As a partner in the national vaccine roll-out, we take these allegations very seriously. We immediately escalated this to senior management to investigate and it appears that the nurse practitioner's comments were misunderstood. We have taken the necessary action to ensure that accurate information is continually communicated. We have also been in touch with the complainant to apologise for the incident."
