GEORGE SAKE NUUS - Die afgelope maande het die eienaars en kliënte van Total Courtenay uitgesien na die koms van die splinternuwe Ryko-karwasmasjien uit Italië.

Die skip het einde November in Port Elizabeth gedok en die masjien is per trok vervoer na George. Tegnici het die noukeurige proses van installasie aangepak.

Tweeduisend kabelkonneksies is gedoen en 'n modem is ingebou ten einde elektroniese kommunikasie met tegnici in Italië te bewerkstellig.

Teen vroeg Desember is die eerste paar "toetswasse" suksesvol gedoen en die masjien is oop verklaar. 'n Rekordgetal van 402 motors is deur die masjien op Vrydag 6 Desember.

This system is capable of washing up to 60 cars per hour - as many as most average hand wash sites are capable of in day!

The machine is fitted with advanced electronic safety features ensuring a quick, efficient and safe wash to customers with all types of cars and vans up to 2,1m high. This machine has the following features:

A wheel correlator to ensure the proper alignment of the car wheel with the conveyor system which gently pulls it through the wash arches;

A foam bath arch to apply the car shampoo which is specially made for use in automatic carwash machines;

A horizontal washer mounted on a pendulum arm fitted with two rotating high pressure nozzles each side, work together with the short rocker panel washers to gently but effectively clean the wheels and sides of the car;

More carwash shampoo is applied whilst the top washer contours the profile of the car, and the two sets of tall side washers wrap around the front, sides and back of the car for maximum contact and cleaning;

The car is sprayed down with fresh, clean water before another arch sprays a wax onto the car, ensuring a brilliant shine;
Excess water is blown off the car by the contouring top and fixed side dryer plenums.

All this in a couple of minutes! This machine is controlled by an advanced computer management and activation system ensuring maximum safety and efficiency. It was installed by qualified technicians who will service and maintain the equipment to factory standards.
