BUSINESS NEWS - The one-stop steel, tubing and hardware shop Steel & Pipes celebrates its brand-new showroom with an opening week from 2 to 6 September.
Customers can expect daily giveaways, specials on selected items, on-site displays and demonstrations from suppliers, as well as a bite to eat and drink.
This landmark in the local hardware industry is celebrating its 23rd Anniversary this year with the expansion of its product range and a beautifully designed cash counter to welcome clients. Products include first-grade hot-rolled steel tubes, plates, galvanised sheets, pipes and an assortment of products such as ornamental castings, fencing components, welding consumables and accessories, paints (primers and enamels), locks, hinges, abrasives, hand and power tools, and gate and remote-control accessories.
"There is a common misconception that industrial businesses are only for the industry," says manager Jacques van Vuuren. "Steel & Pipes is for everyone - this includes the public. Many housewives visit us for their hardware needs."
Parking is plentiful and their services are tailormade to suit the needs of the customer. "You don't have to buy material in full lengths," says Van Vuuren.
"We serve the entire Southern Cape, from George to Beaufort West and Humansdorp. All deliveries are for free."
Some staff members have been with the business for over 20 years. "We are one big family," says Van Vuuren.
Business hours are 08:00 to 17:00 (Mondays to Thursdays); 08:00 to 16:30 (Fridays) and 08:00 to 12:00 (Saturdays).
