GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - The well-loved party accessory store in George, Something Special, has been sold to new owners and is reopening in a brand-new location under a fresh logo in Parkwood, 57 on York.
New owners Ceri and Barry Shackleton, regular clients of Something Special, are super excited to take over from Enver Cassim who started the business 22 years ago and is moving to Johannesburg.
Over the years, Something Special has become the go-to party accessory shop for Georgians because of its vast supply of party costumes and decor, novelties and accessories.
The Shackletons' background makes them the ideal owners to carry this legacy forward. Ceri was a well-known face at E Coetzee Pharmacy where she worked for many years and Barry, a businessman, retired in March this year from Power Measurement and Distribution.
The couple have over many years been involved in fund-raising and catering for local service organisations such as Round Table and the Lions.
"We have a strong love for the George community and are looking forward to meet and serve Something Special's existing customers. We would also love to expand the customer base," says Ceri.
