GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - You are never fully dressed without a smile. This is the motto that husband and wife team Wessel and Sonja Badenhorst, owners of Smile Design Studio in George, go by.
Smile Design Studio can literally design a custom-made brand new pair of pearly whites in any shape or size, using the latest technology and equipment available. Think of it as a facelift for your teeth.
"We serve as a consultation platform for interested people in order to advise them on a variety of dental aesthetic solutions like tooth bleaching, straightening, replacement veneers, crowns, removable dentures, clear or invisible retainers and even temporary clip-on smiles," says Wessel, who has more than 25 years of experience in the dental field.
He says a lot of people are not aware of the different types of solutions there are to turn a smile into an asset. At Smile Design Studio they take time to ascertain each person's individual needs and assist in explaining the different options available to them.
"With so many new technical advancements and materials in the dental field a myriad of opportunities are available to people who would like to have a great smile. Some treatment plans could be expensive, but there are plenty other affordable ways to enhance a smile. The possibilities are basically endless."

Being part of the dental fraternity the Badenhorsts work closely with skilled dentists, oral hygienists and dental technicians to offer an extremely professional service to satisfy even the most discerning clients.
"We want our clients to be completely relaxed and know that we only have their best interest at heart. We take all the time they need to fully explain all the available options and procedures. We believe that first impressions are usually the lasting ones, and a perfect smile makes up the biggest part of that impression," says Wessel.

The process
During the consultation process photographs of the client's existing teeth are taken and, using computer assisted design technology, an image is created to show the potential end result.
This way clients can give their opinion or make the changes they want if they don't approve of the design.
Once the client is happy with the design, it is sent off to a laboratory where a 3D mould of the mouth is cast from gypsum. From there it goes back to Smile Design Studio where the mould is scanned and the final design is done. The design is then sent to the dentist of choice (this can be the client's own dentist) to complete the procedure.
