The warehouse is the fourth and largest branch of the family-run business and opened recently in the renovated centre on the corner of Knysna Road and First Street (the former Servistar building).
There are also branches in Knysna, Witbank and Boksburg.
The business concept has evolved over the last 15 years from being a pool chemical and equipment supplier, to becoming one of the largest retailers of pet and pool accessories in South Africa.
"Realising that most gardens in South Africa that have pools often have pets running around as part of the family fun made the roll-out of the pet division a very simple decision," says family member and Regional Manager Nerene Buchan, who is overseeing operations at the George branch.
"We offer competitive pricing on leading chain store brands of pet food as well as the super-premium vets' ranges and customers can be sure of expert advice from our trained staff and, if they don't know, they will find out," says Nerene.
Pet and Pool Warehouse stocks an extensive range of toys and accessories, catering for all domestic pets and there is a comprehensive over-the-counter medicine and grooming section.
A variety of cold water and tropical fish and accessories are also for sale.
Pool section
The pool section offers free water testing, the widest range of chemicals, hardware and filtration products, accessories, heating equipment, water testing equipment, pool cleaners and spares, as well as everything the serious DIY enthusiast could ever want.

Pet and Pool Warehouse is having its grand opening week commencing Friday 25 July until Saturday 2 August with unbeatable offers and exciting giveaways.
On Saturday 26 July, so much is happening. In addition to live coverage by EDENfm, there will be a jumping castle, face painting and a stilt-walking juggler to entertain the children with the Garden Route SPCA - assisted by York High Animal Club - on hand to sell hot dogs to raise much needed funds for their worthy cause.
Trading hours are Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 17:30 and Saturdays 08:30 to 13:30 (extended on opening weekend).
