GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - Ronnie Mulligan, human resources consultant, offers his clients in-depth knowledge and wide-ranging skills and experience, having had a career spanning decades in this field.
Ronnie completed his NHD (national higher diploma) in Personnel Management. He has been in human resources since 1987 as human resources manager at the mining companies Impala Platinum, Xstrata Chrome and Cronimet South Africa.
He is a specialist in recruitment, labour relations, dispute resolution, community projects, CCMA cases and disciplinary proceedings. His career began at Impala Platinum where he was part of a task team that developed and implemented HR policies and strategies for the company to comply with South African legislation.
In 1998 he was appointed HR manager at Xstrata Chrome Mining where he established a human resources department, training facility and clinic. He and his team re-engineered the way the company did business with government, communities and local municipalities.
He created Baron Mining in 2008 that beneficiated chrome for the largest South African chrome companies, Glencore, Samancor and IFM. "We delivered a reliable, productive and safe service for eight years. During this time I engaged with the local communities, farmers, with the black communities with regard to BEE, and municipalities. I decided it was time for something new and moved to George after selling the business," he says.
Ronnie recently settled in George with his anchor in life, Theresa, and sons Jacques and Marinus. Theresa is a teacher at Van Kervel School and the sons are at Outeniqua High School.
Ronnie is now offering his human resources expertise to businesses in the Garden Route.
