The award is made after careful consideration of many criteria over four quarters, including standards of service, quality of products, cleanliness and hygiene as well as that indefinable ‘Spur’ ambience. Local marketing and community participation are also encouraged and monitored.
Each Spur is visited on a monthly basis by regional and national representatives, who do formal assessments based on stringent specifications, and then review these with management.
Geronimo Spur and Timber Wolf Spur regularly feature in the top five Spurs in the 25-strong region.
Geronimo Spur will celebrate 30 years in George next year, whereas Timber Wolf Spur is five years old this October.
Both are actively involved as sponsors in local rugby, cricket, hockey and cycling, and also support Bethesda and the St Mary’s Child and Youth Care Centre in Rosemore.
The Geronimo and Timber Wolf Spurs are proud to serve the community of George and visitors to the Garden Route, and look forward to many more years of achievement!
