Update
GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality continues to address the ongoing water supply disruptions in Wilderness and Kleinkrantz.
Temporary Pipeline – Akela Reservoir to Kaaimans Train Bridge
A temporary connection has been established at Akela Reservoir.
Approximately 300 metres of temporary pipeline has been installed between connection points.
A further 200 metres of pipeline will be rolled out and connected.
Connection at Kaaimans Train Bridge and additional 200 metres of pipeline installation remain to be completed.
New Pressure Pipeline Installation
A new 200-metre, 200mm diameter pressure pipeline will be installed along the Kaaimans train track to bypass the existing blockage.
A contractor has been deployed to provide full workforce support to George Municipality.
PVC pipeline materials are in stock, with connection fittings currently being sourced.
Water-Truck Deployment to Support Residents
Kleinkrantz
One water truck stationed at the informal settlement.
One water truck roaming the area.
Wilderness
Water truck at Wilderness Hotel.
Water truck stationed at Bundu Café.
Water truck stationed at 8th Avenue.
Fire truck stationed at Waves Garage.
Residents are advised to bring their own containers when collecting water from municipal trucks.
