Lizelle Burger, Geelhoutboom:
The Geelhoutboom VGK Primary Scarves and Mittens Project was highly successful. This is a continuation of last year's "Beanie Project".
Thank you for each and everyone's donations and help with this project.
The children are very appreciative of the scarves and mittens which will help to keep them warm during the cold days of the upcoming winter.
A very special thank you to the following people who donated money to purchase wool for the project - to the anonymous family in Sinksabrug for their generous donation and to Poppy, Sylvia, Lihandri, Sarah, Earle and friend, as well as other anonymous donors.
Thank you to all 36 knitting and crocheting angels. Without their help, I would still be knitting: the Pathcare group, the Haven group at Blue Mountain, Bishopslea Village group, the Virgin Active Aqua group, as well as Adri, Louisa, Jannette, Nicola and Elna van der Merwe who also assisted.
A special thanks to the following who donated some treats for each child at the school. This is hugely appreciated: the anonymous family in Sinksabrug, Elvis Brew Padstal, Searles General Dealer, and Earl and friend.
Lastly but not the least, thank you once again Nicola Sole for all your help, for without your contacts and getting people involved, this project would not have been so successful.
We look forward to the next project! Any donations will be most welcome, be it towards the cost of the wool or your time to knit/crochet.
