'Verkeersnagmerrie', Blanco:
Ek woon hier in Voortrekkerweg en dit is die gevaarlikste pad in Blanco. Die motoriste en motorfietse jaag soos mal goed hier op en af ten spyte daarvan dat die spoed 60km/h is, en hier baie voetgangers beweeg.
Die taxi's is dié wat die veiligste ry. Sommige van die jaagduiwels kom uit Fancourt. Ek was by die burgemeester se kantore om te vra vir een van die geel spoedkameras, maar niks word gedoen nie.

George Municipality is aware of the speeding concerns raised in Voortrekker Road, Blanco, and we thank the community for bringing this to our attention.
Please note that the installation of a speed camera cannot be actioned without the necessary approvals and compliance with legal requirements.
While such matters are considered based on traffic assessments and legislative criteria, the final decision is subject to a lengthy formal process. George Municipality does do periodic patrols in the area to ensure road safety.
In the meantime, we remind all road users that the responsibility for safe and lawful driving lies with each individual motorist. We appeal to drivers to respect speed limits and prioritise the safety of all road users - especially in residential areas such as Blanco.
