I refer here to the Wim Erasmus tribute to Neil Diamond at the Bush Lapa on 26 December.
The show was very professionally produced by the multi-skilled Jovan Heyns of 'Jovan and Thelma' fame while the equally talented Thelma provided backing vocals throughout.
The rest of the exceptional backing band comprised of Pietie Braas and Wynand van Reenen on electric and acoustic guitars, Greshwill Gysman on bass, and Eric Vallieres on drums.
I personally have never really been a big Neil diamond fan, but George's own Wim Erasmus has certainly changed my perception with his unique singing voice, along with the passion he brings to his individual interpretation of the songs.
His interaction and involvement with the crowd is also an endearing feature of the performance.
This, combined with the gifted group of musicians behind him makes for an experience to be remembered.
I believe that this production will be touring the Garden Route and other areas in the near future and would strongly encourage all music lovers to keep an eye out for this, as is it is an exceptional show that should not be missed.

There were quite a few well-known personalities at the Bush Lapa and Ernie Els (right) was roped into the fun by Wim Erasmus.
