Citizens of George will therefore be delighted to hear that Liesl Slotz's Trio Volant will be performing at the Oakhurst Insurance George Arts Theatre on Sunday 3 August.
With only the tiniest handful of harp players in South Africa, it will be a rare treat to see Jacqueline Kerrod in action.
Jacqueline, who has been playing harp since the age of nine, is a South African-born resident of the United States who has now returned to give a series of performances to the country of her birth.
Liesl Slotz needs little introduction as one of South Africa's extensively-experienced and very well-known flautists.
Completing the trio will be American violist Jill King who, as member of the Charleston Symphony, is touring the country for the first time.
They will present a programme of original works by impressionist composers Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Arnold Bax, as well as contemporary composers Robert Pa-terson and Toru Takemitsu.
The performance will be on Sunday 3 August at 15:30 at the Oakhurst Insurance George
Arts Theatre. Ticket prices are R90 for the public, R60 for George Music Society members and R20 for children.
Bookings can be made at PNA, 97 York Street, George on 044 873 0718.
