GEORGE NEWS - The much-awaited annual Thousand Sensations Craft Beer, Spirits and Food Festival takes place on 15 and 16 September at the Wilderness Hotel in Wilderness.
With 40 craft brewers showcasing more than 170 handcrafted beers and ciders, and with craft spirits, gin, brandy, vodka, rum and whisky also in the mix, this event will be a showstopper!
The pre-event craft beer and food pairing is back by popular demand. Organiser of the event, Alewijn Dippenaar, lined up a week's worth of craft beer, spirits and food experiences at local restaurants.
On 11 September, from 19:00 to 21:00, guests will pair craft beer with the contem-porary seasonal dishes of 101 Meade in George. The four-star Turnberry Boutique Hotel in Oudtshoorn will host a food-and-beer pairing on 12 September from 19:00 to 21:00. On 13 September, pairing will take place at the Blind Pig in Wilderness from 19:00 to 21:00 and the final pairing will be held from 19:00 to 21:00 at the four-star Oubaai Hotel on 14 September.
A limited number of tickets to the pre-event pairings are available at R150 each.
Entry to the festival is a mere R90 per person per day, and includes a 340ml branded tasting glass and a 500ml craft beer.
