GEORGE NEWS - Steel Magnolias is Lady Godiva Theatre Production's debut at the Dotsure George Arts Theatre, with Chrisma Theron as the director.
This play by Robert Harling tells the story of six women whose lives intertwine at Truvy's Beauty Shop over the scope of almost two years.
They are best friends, mothers and neighbours who share their hearts, frustrations and witty jokes while getting beautified.
Set in Louisiana in the 1980s, this story is filled with town gossip, special moments, a lot of sass and big hair.
It is hard not to get invested in the six strong, intelligent, and super witty characters and they will have audiences screaming with laughter, but also shedding tears as we follow their journey together.
See Steel Magnolias on 10, 17, 18, 24 and 25 June at 19:00, with matinee performances at 13:00 on 18 and 25 June. Tickets are available at Computicket and at the theatre's box-office.
