PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The Bitou River Band and Barrington's in Plettenberg Bay are joining hands to not only celebrate a local child protection organisation, but to also raise funds for the worthy cause.
The six-piece band, known for delivering an array of sixties, seventies and eighties music, will be performing at Barrington's - a restaurant and boutique hotel - on 17 February from 20:00 to 23:00.
All proceeds of ticket sales will be donated to Masizame Child and Youth Care. Masizame is a registered Child Protection Organisation (CPO) based in Plett that delivers prevention, early intervention and statutory care programmes.
It also runs a child and youth care centre that provides an intensive residential care programme for 30 children who have experienced trauma and emotional or physical abuse.
Their drop-in centre in New Horizons also provides a vital day-care programme to children vulnerable to working the streets, and their team also delivers adolescent development programmes to "at-risk" teenagers, and parenting development programmes to vulnerable families.
Tickets to the event can be obtained by sending an e-mail to nicola@barringtonsplett.co.za or calling 044 050 3767.
