And a magical night it was indeed again at the GRSPCA Carols by Candlelight hosted by the Hyatt Regency Oubaai Resort and Spa on 22 November.
Of the more than 240 guests attending this wonderful evening there was not one 'adult' left in the room by the end of this year's merriment! Each person in the Regency Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Oubaai was transported back to childhood, eyes shining with expectation and marveling at the wonder of Christmas.
The world-renowned South Cape Children's Choir conducted by Jan-Erik Swart had the audience applauding and asking for more of their mesmerising song. This multi-award winning choir again received esteemed prizes in 2013: KKNK 2013 Kanna Prizewinners – Best musical production and the SA National Choral Champions (ATKV Animato). The thrilling news is that in 2014 they will be representing South Africa at the World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia! No wonder guests attending the Carols by Candlelight were enthralled by the performance of the South Cape Children's Choir.
Although this event is popular with each and everyone in the Garden Route, it is always an immense accolade for every local attending the festivities to come across people from all over the globe who enjoy the world class entertainment. Guests from as far as England and Norway were awestruck by the cheerful atmosphere and joviality of the audience. To top it all the Hyatt Regency Oubaai spoiled everyone with only the best festive treats. Guests were treated to popcorn, pancakes and candyfloss to their hearts content! After that, honestly, who would want to visit the North Pole?
What makes Christmas the most wonderful time of the year? People open their hearts to the most deserving of charitable causes…and of course the garden Route SPCA! The vision of the GRSPCA is that one day the Garden Route communities will lead South Africa in their care and respect of animals – in homes, on farms and in the wild. It is pleasing to know that animals in need will benefit from funds raised at this outstanding event.
