GEORGE NEWS - The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School's Schola Cantorium (School Choir) is travelling through South Africa and will visit George on 24 October for a performance at the St Mark's Cathedral.
Cardinal Vaughan Memorial is a Roman Catholic school in Holland Park, London, with approximately 950 students.
During their visit they will perform in a number of concerts.
They have travelled abroad numerous times in the past, and have shared the stage with the likes of the London Symphony Orchestra, The Britten Sinfonia, His Majestys Sagbutts and Cornetts, Southbank Sinfonia, the Bach Choir and the Choir of London.
The Schola features on various film soundtracks, including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1), Paddington, Dark Shadows, Transcendence, The Martian, Alice Through the Looking Glass and the Oscar-winning score for Life of Pi.
Film composers whom the Schola has worked with recently include Danny Elfman, Mychael Danna, Bruno Coulais, James Horner and Hans Zimmer.

On Tuesday evening 24 October, they will be performing alongside our own South Cape Children's Choir at the St Mark's Cathedral.
The concert will start at 19:00. Tickets are R60 and R30 for scholars and pensioners.
