GEORGE NEWS - Carpe Musicam! Orchestra and Band has been entertaining audiences of George and surrounds for nearly 10 years. Carpe Musicam! has a new string to its bow – the Pops Band.
This group, which began as a training ensemble for the orchestra but has since morphed into a musical force in its own right, will be giving their debut concert during the upcoming Groot Brakrivier Muse Festival. Selections from Abba and Queen are on the menu, as well as music by Mozart, Herb Alpert and many others.
It is generally recognised that participating in pleasurable activities leads to the release of endorphins - those hormones that give you a happy glow.
Attending a live music event is proven to be more endorphin-inducing than merely listening to recorded music. Come get your endorphin fix on 22 September!
The concert starts at 15:30 in the Great Brak Dutch Reformed Church.
Tickets are available at www.carpemusicam.co.za or cash at the door on the day. More information about the Groot Brakrivier Muse Festival is available on the website, www.musefees.co.za, and the Facebook page.
