GEORGE NEWS - The sounds of brilliant jazz musicians Kerwin Albertus and Rico Muller and the smooth voices of Lynette Petersen and Kelsey Albertus filled the Fancourt home of the Van Aswegens on Friday evening, 16 March. The cold was soon forgotten as the guests were warmed by the superb performance.
The event was filled with highlights including complex compositions by young saxophonist Kerwin Albertus (16).
Well-known melodies were also sung by the talented and versatile Lynette Petersen. Rico Muller on piano and singer Kelsey Albertus performed Nat King Cole's Orange Coloured Sky - a perfect combination.
Kerwin's band, Sole Individuals, also performed at Mossel Bay's first Mos Jazz Festival last week.
Sole Individuals also plans on doing a recording of Kerwin's original works early in April in Stellenbosch. If you would like to help or support young Kerwin and the work of the Music Club's benefit concerts, contact Adriaan Louw on 076 883 6678.
