GEORGE NEWS - Music sung in four languages, 16 choir members, a vocal ensemble of seven, trios, duets, six soloists, a trumpeter, a conductor and an accompanist!
All this will come together on Sunday 30 May at 17:00 when some of the world’s most profound sacred music will be performed by a group of local singers.
The concert will be in aid of the Martin Luther Congregation in Pacaltsdorp and will take place in the George Tuinedal DR Church, c/o Palgrave and Kasteel Street.
With Jan-Erik Swart as conductor and Deline Brits at the piano, the singers will perform well-known compositions by Palestrina, Bach, Mozart, Gounod, Chris Lamprecht and others, as well as a number of Spirituals.
The choir members as well as the six soloists and the trumpeter Carry Caninga are all well-known artists who are willing to give their time and talents for a worthy cause.
The public is invited to support this wonderful effort and enjoy a late afternoon of excellent music which will send you home filled with peace and joy.
