GEORGE NEWS - George Bernard Shaw's timeless classic Pygmalion will be performed at the George Arts Theatre in July. Director and producer Chrisma Theron plays the role of Eliza Doolittle, with Louwrens Theron as Professor Henry Higgins.
The same cast and crew was seen last year with The Collector, and in 2022, in Steel Magnolias.
In this wife-and husband-act, Chrisma and Lourens Theron are set to give captivating, inspiring and hilarious performances.
For those who are unsure of what the play is all about, just think of the musical My Fair Lady, which is merely the singing and dancing version of Pygmalion. It tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, evolving from guttersnipe to lady with the help of Professor Henry Higgins.
Showtimes are on 12, 13, 19 and 20 July at 19:00, with a matinee on 20 July at 13:00. Tickets cost R130 (adults) and R100 (u.18) and are available at Webtickets or any Pick n Pay. Please note that the tickets are for unreserved seating.
