GEORGE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - All the tickets for the Wildfire Victims Benefit Concert taking place Friday evening 1 March in George have been sold out.
The Wilderness Region of the SANParks Honorary Rangers organised the concert and their secretary Zane Erasmus, says every seat inside the Oakhurst Insurance George Arts Theatre has been filled.
He says the full house is really good news and they are very excited about the pending concert. "It has not been without George Herald's help and I wish to thank you very much for the support you gave us early on by placing the event on your web site and in your George Herald publication."
Come early
He urged theatre goers to arrive early. "The concert starts punctually at 19:30 and with a sellout crowd, people have to find parking, maybe relax a little in the theatre lounge and still find their seats.
"For this reason we are opening the doors at 18:00 and strongly advise that everyone attending arrive as early as possible. We have very very strict timing schedules to adhere to and we have to be fair to the artists and all patrons."
The 60s and 70s concert is to raise funds to provide basic furnishings and equipment for families who lost everything in the October 2018 fires that raced through several forestry villages. Lives were lost and homes destroyed.
The concert includes a fun line-up of local artists and musicians including Ron Carr, Geoff Carter, Barefoot Music and many more.
