GEORGE NEWS - A local art organisation has organised an art competition for artists from the Southern Cape, which will take place in August at the George Museum.

The Southern Cape Association for the Visual Arts (Scava) launched the exciting competition, 'Express the Moment' at their recent AGM, and announced that there are R5 000 worth of cash prizes that can be won in the various categories.

The competition starts on 4 August and will be open for public viewing from 13 August to 23 August.

Artists who wish to enter the competition must present their paintings from Monday 4 to Wednesday 6 August at the George Museum.

The paintings will be hung on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 August.

An awards ceremony will be held on 12 August.
