GEORGE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - The audience can expect musical fire-works, bursting with intensity, enthusiasm and passion, when the world-class violin duo Zanta Hofmeyr and Miro Chakaryan perform their award-winning virtuoso programme, Violin Dialogue, in George. The concert, presented by the George Music Society, includes works by Wieniawski, Sarasate, Leclair, Shostakovich and Mozkowski.
Bulgarian Miro Chakaryan is the concertmaster of the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra and South African Zanta Hofmeyr is well known as a concert violinist and chamber musician.
They will be accompanied by the highly talented Mossel Bay pianist Olive Sandilands.
The duo has won several awards, including the 2018 Fiesta Award for Best Performance of Classical Music at Arts Festivals in South Africa and Best Classical Production at the 2018 Aardklop festival.
The concert takes place on Friday 3 May, at 19:30 at the George Arts Theatre in York Street. Tickets are R140 for the public, R90 for members and 75+ years, and R30 for learners and will be available here from 23 April.
