GEORGE NEWS - The George Tens organisers announced with great excitement the very first Women’s League competing at the George Tens Rugby Festival.
This league would not be possible without the help and support of SA Rugby and local businesses who worked together to bring these ladies to the festival to compete and show off their talents.
The women’s teams hail from various parts of the country and will converge on George to claim the inaugural title of the Women’s League champions.
"We pride ourselves on our goal of inclusivity for all at the George Tens and we welcome seeded development above all, as we endeavor to further the social development of rugby in the Garden Route", said Cllr Dirk Wessels, one of the initiators of the tournament.
For the inaugural George Tens, the Women’s League will feature eight teams. Talking to the organisers and all relevant role players, it is evident that this number is targeted to grow from strength to strength in the years to come.
George Municipality in collaboration with other stakeholders will host the George Tens Rugby Festival at Outeniqua Park on 7 and 8 December.
