The president of the SWD Rugby Union, Ben Brinkhuis, said contract negotiations will start in November to sign players for the 2025 season.

RUGBY NEWS - The Phangela SWD Eagles held their awards ceremony on Thursday 25 July to celebrate their top achievers. 

In the Carling Currie Cup First Division, the Eagles managed to progress up to the semi-finals where they narrowly lost 25-24 to the Boland Cavaliers.

The Eagles have finished play for the 2024 season and all the players' contracts expired yesterday, 31 July.

Those involved in club rugby will continue to play in that capacity. The president of the SWD Rugby Union, Ben Brinkhuis, said contract negotiations will start in November to sign players for the 2025 season.
