SPORT NEWS - Fish Eagles Masters Swimming's Tanya Livingston has enjoyed an extraordinary six-week run, racking up a 'triple' of dominant performances across three major competitions.
Competing at the World Open Masters Games in Abu Dhabi in February, Livingston (50-54 age group) claimed an impressive seven gold medals: five in pool events, along with titles in open water and the sprint triathlon.
She followed this up at the South African Masters Swimming Championships with another seven gold medals across pool and open water events, while also contributing to relay podium finishes, earning silver and bronze.
At the South African Lifesaving Championships, Livingston once again dominated, collecting eight gold medals in both pool and surf disciplines, as well as three relay silvers.
Adding to her achievements, she also completed the Cape Town Cycle Tour, qualifying for the Gran Fondo World Championships in Japan later this year.
Asked to share some thoughts on her successes, Livingston said she thinks the biggest restriction is our mind: "As one gets older, you need to listen to your body, but don't allow your mind to restrict you. Tatazela - seize the day!"
