GEORGE NEWS - What will Joel Stransky, Graeme Smith, Bruce Fordyce, Nick Bester, Sanani Mangisa and Steve Waugh (former Australian cricket captain) be doing tomorrow? They will be cycling through George for charity.
These sport celebrities and other cyclists taking part in the African Icons Invitational cycling event, will be passing through George tomorrow morning after they leave Wilderness at 07:15.
The aim of the race is to raise funds for the orphans and widows of South African police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. All funds raised will go to support their education and a help with a monthly income for these families.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see all these sport stars together when they cycle through George. The cyclists will follow the scenic 7 Passes road to George after which they will ride to Oudthsoorn via Knysna Road / Courtenay Street and the Outeniqua Pass.
The African Icons Invitational started in Port Elizabeth on 30 September and will end in Botrivier on Friday 5 Ocktober.
