KNYSNA NEWS - Qualifying for Classic Car Friday has wrapped up in emphatic fashion, locking in the top three competitors in each class who will now advance to the Class Finals, determined by their fastest times across three runs.
The session also confirmed the contenders for the much-anticipated all-or-nothing Top 10 Shootout, where one driver will ultimately be crowned the 2026 Classic Conqueror.
Franco Scribante delivered a standout performance, posting his fastest time ever in the Chevron B19 with an impressive 41.107 seconds. His blistering run not only set the benchmark for the day but further underlined his dominance at this year’s event.
Hot on his heels, Ian Schofield improved his pace to finish qualifying with a time of 41.413 seconds, while Andre Bezuidenhout secured third overall with a best effort of 42.516 seconds.
The remainder of the top 10 heading into the shootout features James Temple in fourth place, followed by Reghard Roets, Mike McLoughlin, Rui Campos, Nikki Vostanis, Josh Dovey and Robert Wolk.
With margins razor-thin and form finely balanced, all eyes now turn to the Top 10 Shootout, where a single run will decide who claims ultimate bragging rights as this year’s Classic Conqueror.
