MOTORING RACING NEWS - Team Perfect Circle announced on Facebook that six time Simola Hillclimb King of the Hill winner and record holder, André Bezuidenhout is out of the race this year, making way for a new champion.
During the final test run with the Gould for Sunday’s King of the Hill, his Gould GR55 suffered a catastrophic cam failure at Killarney.
The damage is so extensive that the car has had to be withdrawn.
A new champion will therefore be crowned this coming Sunday as King of the Hill, but Team Perfect Circle says Bezuidenhout will be there to support his son, Jandré, in class H4 with the Turbo Cup Porsche as his second mechanic alongside with Divan Luzmore GTClubsport.
Team Perfect Circle says this is the perfect example of how cruel motorsport can be - “a sport we love so much".
"You never know what can happen. Andre Bezuidenhout will, however, still try to retain his Classic Conqueror title in that battle on Friday at the incredible Simola Hillclimb, in his #TeamPerfectCircle Lola,” the Facebook post reads.
