GEORGE NEWS - Pacaltsdorp United and Sussex were both back on the winning side in the four matches on the Six Gun Grill SWD Premier League that were played last weekend.
Pacaltsdorp (70/3) won by 7 wickets after the defending champions dismissed Union Stars I for only 69. Enathi Kitshini (6/16) was in great form for Pacaltsdorp and as they surpassed the winning runs in only 13.1 overs, they also gain an important bonus point.
Sussex, that had back-to-back trips to Oudtshoorn, also dismissed Union Stars II cheaply (100 all out) with Ravin-Lee Kemmies (3/45) the top performer with the ball for Sussex.
The D’Almeida-based team chased down the winning runs (103/4) in the 31st over for a 6-wicket bonus point victory.
Plett Pioneers (123 all out) remain winless and at the bottom of the log after they could not master the Knysna Cavaliers bowling attack of Francois Bonthuys (5/21) and Jarred Jardine (3/22). Cavaliers won the Bitou derby after they reached the target (124/4 in the 33rd over) for a 6-wicket bonus-point victory.
George (110/1 in 13.5 overs) were too strong for Harlequins (106 all out) and recorded a 9-wicket bonus-point victory. Werner Botha (49) and Cobus Snyman (45) excelled with the bat while Shelby Lindique (3/4) and Kelly Smuts (3/20) each bagged three wickets for George.
