GEORGE NEWS - Earlier this year, a group of gymnasts from George were selected to compete in two international gymnastics competitions in Portugal. 

They will be representing the Madiba RSA team in the Scalabis Cup and Coimbra Cup from 3 to 14 July.

This team of kids from Live Gymnastics Academy and Skat Gymnastics will form part of a bigger team competing in these competitions. 

They have worked very hard to get here and are very excited about the opportunity.

However, the event is self-funded and each gymnast needs to raise about R46 000 to enable them to go.

 Various fundraising events have been arranged to support them, but the community is also asked to help get this team to Portugal and make their dreams come true.

These athletes are not only ambassadors of George, but will be ambassadors of their country.
