GEORGE NEWS - Glenwood House buzzed with excitement as students from the Foundation Phase participated in their fourth Inquiry: The Mini Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
The event was a colourful spectacle, with countries from around the world well represented by the young ‘athletes.’
Flags from various nations added a vibrant flare, waving proudly in the hands of the enthusiastic participants. The air was filled with the sounds of cheering as the students made their entry into the ‘stadium.’
A highlight of the ceremony was the flame relay, where students carried the Olympic flame around the field before lighting the cauldron, symbolising the unity and spirit of the games.
The ceremony also included a special moment where the Olympic Oath was recited in French, emphasising the international spirit of the event.
Finally, the Executive Head, Mr. Zeelie, took to the podium and officially declared the Glenwood House Mini Olympic Games open.
