GEORGE BOWLS NEWS - The final round of the Lew Geffen Sotheby's International Realty Spring Business League was held at George Bowling Club last Thursday with close battles in both the Cup and Plate events.
FNB finally came out on top in the Cup event after finishing second in the last three tournaments. FNB ended on 49 points with Tellcorp coming a close second on 47 points.
In the Plate event, Retail IT made a sensational comeback to take the title by a slender one point over the team from Daisy Solutions.
This biannual event has attracted some high quality bowls with no less than four of the players now joining the George Bowling Club as full members, a sure sign that the sport of bowls is growing in the George area.
The George Bowling club would like to thank Tim Kirby and his team of Lew Geffen Sotheby's International Realty for their continued support of this most exciting and enjoyable tournament.
Also a "special thank you" to Jill Power, who has been the convenor of this tournament for several years, and to her team of helpers.
