SURFING NEWS - Eden surfrider Blake Crankshaw has been following the SAST (South African Surf Tour) representing Eden Surfing over the past four years.
This tour entails travelling to surf breaks throughout South Africa and competing against the top-ranked surfers in their respective age groups.
There are 12 contests, of which the seven best outcomes are counted for the final ranking, which is announced at the SA Championship in October.
Blake is currently ranked first in the country on the SAST leaderboard, after his convincing victory of the u.18 second leg of the Rip Curl Grom Search contest, held at his local break Victoria Bay recently.
The waves were very contestable and Blake managed to find the power, speed and flow required by the judges to take a thrilling victory.
Blake wanted to thank his sponsors, Rip Curl South Africa, Mat surfboards and the Western Cape Sports Academy, as well as the local surf community for all the support and guidance that he has received from them for their efforts and assistance in getting Blake where he is today.
