BOWLS NEWS - On Sunday 19 March the final of the George Bowling Club Mixed Pairs competition was played in perfect weather and on a superb green.
The bronze medal was contested between S Meyer and D Olivier versus M Rabie and M Blumrick.
With one end to go the teams were 18 all and Meyer managed to draw the final shot to win by one shot.
Playing for gold and silver were A Janse van Rensburg and M Pringle versus Z Salemane and G Steyn.
Here, with one end to play the score was Salemane 17, Janse van Rensburg 16. Janse van Rensburg picked up three shots to take the final score to 19 – 17, winning gold and putting Salemane in second place.
