GEORGE NEWS - The third edition of the popular Bergplaas Challenge, organised by Chain Gang Events, took place on Saturday 15 April at the beautiful Beyond the Moon guest farm in Hoekwil. 

The race, which is growing year-on-year, saw a total of 320 mountain bikers and runners participating on an extremely tough and technical route this year.

The event forms part of the Eden XCM League and participants could choose between 5km/10km trail runs and 15km/30km/40km/70km mountain bike races.

In the 70km ladies MTB race, the podium belonged to Yolande de Villiers (first), Rethe Mostert (second) and Roxanne Kemp.
