GEORGE GOLF NEWS - Golf is back in full swing and at most of the home-based courses, several club competitions are being hosted every week.
The results from last week's club competition at the George Golf Club are:
Corné Verhoeven, on 44 points, won the ladies competition, sponsored by Good Fellas, last Tuesday. Annamie van Rensburg (43 points) was the runner-up with Helen Hills (41 points) third. Deon Strauss (gross 89) and James Hills (gross 84), both on 48 points, won the members' competition, a combined Stableford sponsored by Investic.
The runners-up were Franck Larde (gross 79) and Michael Rohwer (gross 73), both on 47 points c/i with Dave Todd (gross 93) and Reinhalt von Hirschberg (gross 83) joint third on 47 points c/o.
The winners in Saturday's club-sponsored members competition were:
A Division
Winner: Fanus Pauw (Hcp 2.5 / White Course / Gross 70) with a 67 nett.
Runner-up: Albert Viljoen (Hcp 5.2 / White Course / Gross 76) with a 70 nett.
B Division
Winner: Mark Scheepers (Hcp 15.9 / White Course / Gross 85) with a 67 nett.
Runner-up: Keith Sharpe (Hcp 13.5 / White Course / Gross 84) with a 68 nett.
C Division
Winner: Fritz van Huyssteen (Hcp 24 / Blue Course / Gross 95) with a 69 nett.
Runner-up: Mark Cameron (Hcp 18.1 / White Course / Gross 91) with a 70 nett.
Ladies Individual Stableford Section
Winner: Liz Hughes (Hcp 18.8 / Red Course / Gross 92) on 39 points.
Runner-up: Denise Danks (Hcp 16.4 / Red Course / Gross 93) on 36 points.
