Perfect weather for golf

GOLF NEWS - The Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers hosted their annual golf day on Thursday, 10 August, at the George Golf Club.

In a successful day, 25 fourballs entered the field, adding up to 100 golfers, who enjoyed perfect weather.

The fourball of Adrian Cupido, William Phillipus, Ian Laubscher and André Plaatjies, with 92 stableford points, defended their title and walked away with the honours.

The George Cricket club ended second with 89 points.

Unfortunately, none of the golfers were able to convert a hole-in-one on the 15th (to win R500 000) or the 17th (to win a brand new Volkswagen Taigo).

Head coach of the Protea test team, Shukri Conrad, former Springbok rugby player Anton Leonard and well-known actor Hannes Muller who performed in the show Groet die Grotman, were among the participants.

The CEO of the Garden Route Badgers, Albertus Kennedy, thanked all the role players, sponsors, players and the George Golf Club for an entertaining and successful event.

The George Cricket Club team, the runners-up, consisted of PJ Carstens, Zenobia Nel (Garden Route Badgers), Marius Fourie, Candice Reynolds and Hannes van Niekerk.
