GEORGE NEWS - On Thursday, 15 August the PDSA Charity Challenge Golf Day took place at George Golf Club.
This golf day was the initiative of Johan van der Merwe and the two charities that benefited from it were the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) and the Shoe Box Project.
The Shoe Box Project looks after old age homes and orphanages and give the old people a shoebox with goodies in when it is their birthday and again at Christmas time.
According to PDSA administrator, Moira Gibbs, the golf day was a huge success.
She and Janine Pretorius from the Shoe Box Project, thanks everyone who took part and all the sponsors and donors who contributed.

“We hope to hold this golf day as an annual event for these two charities and look forward to an even better and bigger golf day next year,” Gibbs said.
