Young Killers hold Vista FC

GEORGE NEWS - The former Geolfa League champions Vista FC locked horns with Young Killers FC in a Geolfa League encounter on Saturday afternoon, 22 June at the Lawaaikamp Stadium, playing to a 2-2 draw. Both teams are currently occupying the bottom half of the log table.

Vista kicked off the game moving forward with the ball on the ground, but were up against an alert Young Killers team who turned the game around.

This caused the Vista FC backline to panic at the back line. Thulani Sontashe netted the first goal with a long-range ball from a set piece, beating the Killers goalkeeper, Inam Mxoli.

After a cross inside the box by Xhantilomzi Kaka of Young Killers, his teammate Nkosiyakhe Kwaza found the ball and levelled the score on 1-1 just before the half-time whistle.

In the second half Nkosiyakhe Kwaza extended their lead to 2-1 after a long-range shot on the left side of the field, which was countered by Lutho Jonga who equalised from a penalty. The last 10 minutes saw plenty of action as both teams fought unsuccessfully to score a winning goal, and the game ended 2-2 with each team earning one point.
